1. Application conditions

The Singapore Tourism Authority also defines the qualifications of applicants. To apply for a travel agency license, you need to meet the following conditions:

1. Legal registration of the company

The applicant must be a registered company (accredited by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority), and the company can only carry out travel agency business;

2. Registered capital

A registered company must have a registered capital of at least S$100,000;

3. Key Executive

The applicant must ensure that the company has a suitable key executor (KE). The main executor needs to guide the management of the company and the operation of the tourism business, so the executor needs to have a certain level of management experience in the tourism industry, and the appointment of the main executor needs to be assessed and approved by STB.

Note: There is no restriction on the identity of the main executive by the Tourism Administration. Singapore citizens, permanent residents or foreigners (with a work permit) are all acceptable, but at least one year of travel agency management experience (manager level or above) is required.

4. Company Email account and TRUST

Applicants need to apply for an e-mail dedicated to travel agency business, and all matters related to the license application will be carried out through this e-mail in the later stage, including the grant of licenses and so on.

TRUST (Travel related users' system) is a web-based management and information platform. Applicants can update company-related information and the appointment of key executives on the platform, including subsequent license renewals, etc. Note: After the license application is successful, the company will obtain the username and password of the TRUST website.

5. Managers

Managers need to have good character and reputation, and applicants may be required to provide relevant materials to support STB's assessment and identification of managers.

6. Office space and signs used

Applicants do not need to identify an office location when applying for a license, but it is best to plan ahead. After obtaining the consent in principle for the license application, the applicant needs to determine the office space as soon as possible, and the following conditions must be met:

a. Applicants are required to submit documents proving that the office is suitable for the conduct of travel agency business

b. The office can only be used to operate travel agency business

c. The right to use the office for at least one year (buy or lease)
